Actually bad hygiene and smell in earlier periods are a myth! It's just that their way of cleaning themselves was very different from modern ways.
And rest assured even if that wasn't the case OIs frequently depict regular bathing so it's safe to assume that at least amongst the nobility they share our hygiene methods
Well, glad to know it's not what is depicted. and ofcourse I love mc for how she started with a lie that she fell in love so that she can stay back(to take bath lol)
