She's the author and is doing the controlling. Every time she interferes, her power as the author gets weaker. I think the last person she had control over is Cliff, or he just stupidly plays along.
It's not like that. He knows he is being controlled. But if doesn't obey her, something bad happens to his family especially Killian. He tried a lot of times when he was young to break free but he saw he was making it worse cuz he is the male lead and the mind control is stronger on him so he does things he can't control.

Wait do you mind if I ask some questions? Is it the case where the author of the book possessed their FL body and basically becomes obsessed with the story going perfectly only for the fl? Or does Lize's body actually belong to the author, and her soul wasn't kicked out?
2) If she is indeed the author, I recall them saying that there were many different souls who were reincarnated into Edith. And she had to wait until each one died so the novel could reset. Is it a case where the author just wants eternal life? Does that mean the story never continues after that point and always resets? In any case that'd just mean that author author is ok with many different people being killed over and over for her sake. Is she really that twisted?
What about the abuse Lize supposedly faced in her family? Is she ok with reliving that over and over again?
