to add on to this, a lot of homophobic people argue that adoption isn’t “natural” considering that the children aren’t yours, but that’s also a stupid argument because why should it matter if it’s biologically mine or not? first they say that you can’t have children, but when you offer a solution to that with adoption, they say it isn’t “pure”. what they’re actually saying is that they think having children is a necessity to extend their family line; ergo: an extension of themselves, not individuals.
Good points. Notice how the dad said he had children because he was supposed to and not because he WANTED to. Having children out of a sense of duty doesnt make you right or even a good parent, they actually make some of the worst. They use that “duty to have children” as a right most of the time to control them and make decisions for their lives well into adulthood which plays on your comment about the children not being individuals, almost like they’re possessions.
the majority of their arguments just boils down to children. like… have they never heard of adoption? they’re the same bitches that are prolife preach about “all children have rights!!” until you ask them why they haven’t adopted any of the children or fought to change the foster care and adoption system to make it easier for people who can’t have children more accessible. it gets on my nerves how entitled these people are and ignorant to what the actual root problem is.
