The scene where Minjae realizes how different being held by someone who genuinely cares about him feels compared to when Jungwoo came in his room and held him comes to mind when I read your last sentence. It's like Minjae realized that what he thought was comfort and connection was actually just Jungwoo being relieved that he wasn't the only one/maybe the start of Minjaes abuse marked the end of Jungwoos. They were all in a really horrible situation and have been left with such deep trauma that I do find myself empathizing with them even when they do things I think they shouldn't. However, their trauma doesn't absolve them of their wrongdoings, so depending on what else we find out about Jungwoo, I may change my mind. Earlier on in the story, a lot of commenters were (imo) very harsh toward Minjae when I felt it was pretty clear that he was acting out,
often in very self-destructive ways, due to his trauma. And I feel very deeply for him and hope he can heal, but still what he did to Taeyoung during the maid costume scene was wrong (also that early scene when they first met as adults) and he shouldn't get a pass for causing harm just because he'd been harmed in the past. Anyway, all that's to say I feel for what they've been through but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't face repercussions for the harm they're cause. And Jungwoo and Junghyuk could go either way for me depending on what they do next
So….the Chairman is a p*do/ rapist, and once he adopted the redhead, he stopped messing with the other kids and started focusing solely on the redhead, and the other two were relieved by that which is why they never really tried to help him. So now the redhead acts out as an adult because he’s still traumatized by what he went through as a kid. Meanwhile the other two brothers ignore his self destructive behavior and rather pretend they have no idea why he’s like that and that it has nothing to do with them. These two also seem to have some incestuous shit going on now, which isnt unheard between kids who have been m*lested and have “trauma bonded” so to speak.
If I’m correct with what the current plot is implying this is probably going to get much worse, isn’t it? Oh boy
