He did suffer. After Aeroc’s death the imprint between them slowly tormented him for decades, but he couldn’t commit suicide because he knew that he forced Aeroc to have those kids. So now his responsible in ensuring that they have a good life, after most of his kids left, he started hallucinating of lights in the cabin. He is left with an emptiness no love his children can provide, that’s how imprinting works. The fact he killed his imprinted omega will affect his mind in a different way, imprinting messes with your head.

If it’s about his own return that he got to be with the Au Aeroc, yeah it sounds unfair. But his a selfish man, he’ll never let Aeroc go. And Au Aeroc doesn’t know, and if you read v5 it wasn’t forced. Instead Clough is suffering in a different kind of hell, the new world is so peaceful that his anguish will be left unheard. He will feel helpless because he left so much hurt behind. A new family won’t erase the past, he deprived his kids of a mother, the joy he’ll experience will be like poison. The good life is his punishment. Even Raphael was someone he couldn’t look at, because he knew that he failed him, he deserved a better partner.

Like none of this would have happened if he was honest from the beginning, but he had to drag so many people in the hell that is s1.

It doesn’t sound a lot. But Clough can never truly be happy, that’s his punishment, he’ll carry all that sins without support unlike Og Aeroc in his return. Clough will be afraid to share his demons, because Au Aeroc might runaway, who wouldn’t…

Depends on how you interpret the novel. But for me… Winter gave Og Clough a big FU. It’s just not physical torment… mental torture

Happy to help. It’s not that detailed how Clough is suffering, so I understand the frustration. But rest assured that he does (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
