Soooo, it's dark. The love is not some kind of Stockholm Syndrome situation. This manga is a trauma filled slow burn but it's fantastic. No weak bottoms and two asshole tops. But it's good. Really.

There's a lot of story like this, with their rapist. But this one is one of kind. The past, and the sealed heart. Slowly burning with their warmth to each other, that change to new begining. Its real fast but its show how slowly they become. BTW. The comments in the section, brings me here. Hihihi

It’s a thought piece, and well done. The author explores themes of power and consent, and how a relationship would realistically develop from a basis of past rape. Does a lot of interesting explorations of when, if ever, their relationship is balanced. It’s heavy but a very good read.

This manga is incredibly dark and a well written exploration of how a relationship would realistically develop on a basis of rape, the kinds of people who’d be able for this to happen, and thoughtful portrayals of power and balance. It’s quite heavy and satisfying. I highly recommend it if that sounds interesting to you. Nothing is romanticized or excused between the leads, and it asks a question do when, if ever, their relationship could strike balance after something like that occurred—is balance restored after one rapes the other back? If you learned one was blackout drunk? If the other saves the other from being raped?—it’s a very unique fictional exploration of the subject, and doesn’t offer a clear answer.

I don't think it romanticized rape. Utsumi falls in love with Akamine at that very drinking party, right before the rape. But Utsumi found out Akamine just using him as an anahole in place of Saeki. He hates Akamine for forgeting his crime, for pinning after Saeki, didn't even see/remember helping him at the party. That's complicated. It's like you're raped by your crush but that person don't have any feeling whatsoever for you, you're just a discarded condom. Utsumi hates and yearns for Akamine at the same time.

Well the reply’s really got me interested since it’s not excused, and it’s well written. Thanks for the reply (●'◡'●)ノ

Hope this helps. It's really complex and well-written story. I hope the mangaka can write another volume to show their domestic life and healing journey for Utsumi and Akamine as well.
