This manga is incredibly dark and a well written exploration of how a relationship would realistically develop on a basis of rape, the kinds of people who’d be able for this to happen, and thoughtful portrayals of power and balance. It’s quite heavy and satisfying. I highly recommend it if that sounds interesting to you. Nothing is romanticized or excused between the leads, and it asks a question do when, if ever, their relationship could strike balance after something like that occurred—is balance restored after one rapes the other back? If you learned one was blackout drunk? If the other saves the other from being raped?—it’s a very unique fictional exploration of the subject, and doesn’t offer a clear answer.

I don't think it romanticized rape. Utsumi falls in love with Akamine at that very drinking party, right before the rape. But Utsumi found out Akamine just using him as an anahole in place of Saeki. He hates Akamine for forgeting his crime, for pinning after Saeki, didn't even see/remember helping him at the party. That's complicated. It's like you're raped by your crush but that person don't have any feeling whatsoever for you, you're just a discarded condom. Utsumi hates and yearns for Akamine at the same time.
So I came here for the beautiful art in the cover and see a summary saying it’s a love story of a guy and his RAPIST!? wtf? Can someone please me explain better? Is this shit for real?
