I had the same thoughts with you lol
It's tough to read, and the male lead tries to manipulate the female lead's feelings quickly into the story. They rush the story so quickly without much context and go straight into problems without any buildup of character. Honestly, it's terrible. I feel no connection to the story and was just reading it at some point to get it over with. I couldn't even do that and skipped a couple of chapters so I could get to the comment section.

To me it felt like the fl is a pushover. Clearly she doesn't know she was manipulated by the emperor yet still became diplomat for her country. Pride my ass, she's just naive.
You should decide that yourself, sometimes the rating is not reliable, some people are quick to judge. There are stories that might be confusing at first but by reading we discover the truths behind the actions and feelings of the characters.
I'm not saying that this is good nor that is bad, just that we should know more about the story before actually rating. There are still only few chapters. (I really want this to be clear because I've seen great mangas, manhwas and manhuas rated low because some people didn't understand what happened in the first chapter, like, what's the point of reading a story if everything gets revealed at the beginning? Some stories are fascinating because of plot twists!)
So far, up until chapter 9, for me it's not a 5 but not below 3 either. Still deciding. And I don't dislike the FL but I do worry ML might be a red flag, we will see.
why are the ratings so low? I can see the art's really pretty and I know you guys are bitches for pretty art so if the story is bad and art's good it's given a pass and a high rating so is the story so bad that even the art couldn't save it???/ gen/
