One, she had a rotten first childhood, so she deserves to enjoy this one. Two, if she actually acted her mental and emotional age (i.e. her current age + past life age), everyone around her would be paying even more attention to her and what she's doing, and the people wanting to use her or hurt her would most likely become more aggressive towards her.
All in all, it is better to pretend to be a little kid, instead of letting it slip that she is an adult in a kid's body.
