Yea I get SA comes with the psychological tag. Not complaining about that. But SA for the sake of drama is bad plot.
the premise here is that underworld makes doppelgängers to replace criminal humans for the good of humanity. In Korean/Chinese/Japanese underworld doesn’t necessarily mean evil. the underworld holds all souls for reincarnation. And that’s actually where the soul heals to move forward. So the whole evil demons are doppelgängers doesn’t make sense. Technically they should be stopping SA instead of committing it according the premise of the plot itself.

Oh sorry. No psychological tag yet. But yes it should be added. We still don’t know how the ml lived or died after the kidnapping.
But the rest of the comment stands.

i mean that world doesnt have to be based on east asian conventions about the dead and even if thats the case there are still evil spirits that exist in their mythology. taosim isnt the same as this but yeah it can be set in a more "western" world.

It’s not really about Asian, eastern or western mythologies. Those are an interesting topic in themselves.
Thus far the plot hasn’t referred to any mythological figure of any lore of the underworld. Just the term reapers and demons. Demons are making doppelgängers. And reapers are going about collecting the dead. I am going by the premise of the story that doppelgängers are supposed to be good.


And as to your other comment. Well yes I am sure. At the end of the day it’s still underworld. I was pointing out that it’s not synonymous to the western idea of it. But I am saying that based of my knowledge through reading ALOT. could be wrong.
