I was thinking the same thing! The leaders must've told everyone to keep doing that so at least he would live on because they knew everyone else was mostly going to die. :')
it feels so much sadder seeing how much they cared for mc :( he was just a kid n shouldve never had to shoulder all the shit him and his friend went through...i rlly hope ml can ease some of mcs guilt soon in the story

reading the offical translation the story made so much more sense now i thought mc couldnt die because it was a skill forcing him to do everyones last wishes but the truth was even more sadder T-T
