um I want spoilers too ╥﹏╥
Ok so a list of things that are going to happen:
1. Maxi(M) accompanies Riftan(R) and the knights into battle.
2. When R leaves for the front lines, he asks M to stay back with the other priestesses(healers). M stays back for a while but is worried sick about R so she goes unaccompanied to the frontlines. R finds her and is angry but they make up(steamy stuff).
3. M contributes significantly to the battle, turns the tide but is severely injured after trying to defend herself from a troll I believe and from mana depletion, literally bleeding to death.
4. Riftan is traumatized seeing M inches away from death and asks her to go back with the princess and a few knights to heal. There she meets her abusive father who tells her what everyone had been hiding from her ( because they thought the news would be too much for her to bear given her current state) when she left with the princess-That she had miscarried.
5. M had no idea she was pregnant. Now she feels immensely guilty cuz " who would kill their own baby" and she thinks R asked her to leave cuz he was mad at her(which obviously isn't true) so she doesn't want to face him. So the Duke, as if he were being a considerate loving father, takes her back to his dukedom.
6. R is shocked and goes to get his wife back. On one side M fights with her father to see her husband getting abused in the process and on the other side, M keeps asking the Duke if he can see his wife and is told that M had no intentions of seeing him, which breaks his heart. He feels like M's injuries are all his fault. M's sister helps R slip into the castle to find M. There he sees M's father whipping her bare back. He beats the shit out of him and takes Maxi back home. On the way when they rest they both break down and have a heart to heart conversation( this scene will melt your heart).
7. Because R slipped into the castle and beat a Duke, he is now involved in a legal struggle where he could lose his title. The princess makes a suggestion in private to M, which involves joining the wizards tower as a student. This will also be useful to her to learn Magic. BUT it will mean that he has to stay away from R for 3 more years. This will help R retain his title.
8. They fight, R is willing to give up his title if it means staying with M. M says that despite what he believes he cares about Anatol and its people and he did spend years fighting for them so he shouldnt have to give any of it up. M decides to leave and R reveals a heartbreaking part of his past and says that 3 years would be more painful than he could bear so he cannot wait for her, that she was leaving for herself alone and not for him. M leaves abord a ship to the tower without R seeing her. R comes running and in tears but it's too late......
This is the end of one volume. I believe the next season may end here. Like I said.... Hold on to your butts

No this is only the end of a volume. There's plenty more. Maxi keeps writing letters for Riftan from the wizards tower. Riftan realizes he needs more political strength to safeguard his position.
In the volume after this we will see Maxi grow stronger and bolder. Worth the wait if you ask me.
