Yes bec you have a choice not to go there in the first place? This is not Shounen AI where it only focuses on romance, slice of life etc. Yaoi focuses on romantic and SEXUAL relations between men so obviously untoward sexual advances may happen at some point in some stories.

Okay and you can not read those comments but you still do? And you can show sexual relations without it involving rape. Gay men can have sex without it being forced! And if you’re going to write about rape, do it correctly. Half of the time, the narrative doesn’t view the rape as a negative thing that happened to the character. It’s just thrown in there for no reason.

Also, ignoring the topic of rape, people critique the media they consume in general. That’s literally one of the biggest parts of media is that we (the audience) critique and praise and discuss what we’re consuming. People discussing what they don’t like and what they do like is an everyday thing. Do you get like this every time someone critiques something you don’t like? It seems exhausting

Just so you yw guys, dubcon, sa etc, these things has been in most YAOI genres eversince this genre started. If that is the tag then you can expect it to be there. It's like complaining about pickles and tomato in your fastfood burger whn yk that MOST of them has that as their ingredient.
We are not being arrogant when we say that you should just stop reading Yaoi tags or just drop it and move on, we say it basically bec not all can take just treat it as fiction and not take it seriously. Also all the complaining we see in comments section leaves a bad taste after we read that it hinders us to discuss what we like about the story/characters etc bec keyboard warriors judge us or come at us harshly.
