If it’s not grooming, it’s definitely still not good… like the guy was apparently genuinely interested in the main character when the main character was a child and the ML was apparently either a teenager or an adult, and he’s never stopped having these feelings. I will say though, I can’t help but notice how the main character mentioned having someone they hung out with when the MC was in middle schools and I’m pretty sure that it’ll end up being the ML. If this is the case, then I’m fairly sure it’ll end up being something grooming adjacent

It isn't grooming. Seme didn't even come to MC before he was an adult. Non-con may put some people off but MC doesn't really hate seme just overwhelmed by the new experience. MC is an airhead ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
