Ok the rape trope is not new to the yaoi world, and neither is the forgiving/brushing off/falling in love w your rapist new. But the rape in this story makes no actual sense??? Unless being drunk is supposed to somehow explain his behavior??? Akamine is not even the stereotypical yaoi character that resorts to rape, it doesn’t even seem to fit his personality/portrayal. It’s like a split version of him, but what made it even more confusing and frankly unnecessary is that this “side” of him never show up again??? He barely remembers that night, and nothing about him seems to indicate that he could or would even do something like that! The stereotypical yaoi character that resorts to rape/noncon s*x are typically arrogant, dominant, pushy as*holes but Akamine is not! Again, the rape makes no sense. And neither does the weird work drama at the end about the boss working for the mafia and trying to pin it on Akamine and almost killing them both…..like WHAT. This story seems like an acid trip or a fever dream…
