In defense of Shizuma

Kapu February 27, 2024 3:29 pm

Honestly I don't get the over-siding with Minato in the comments. Sure, Shizuma should make more time for his lover, and he should set some boundaries. But Minato is pretty, and jealous about every little thing, the demand not to smile at anyone is unrealistic too, and if your trust in your partner is that low, maybe you shouldn't be with them, what for? To cage them? Shizuma is a vet, a very demanding job, and he is more than happy to have things be demanded of him, and comply and spoil Minato in every way. If anything, they fit well together because they both have a fear of abandonment, Minato is selfish and Shizuma is a pushover for him.

You’re absolutely right and most of the comments miss the point of this story. Both of these characters are problematic and they fell way too deeply in love with each other way too fast. They both need to change for the relationship to last so picking one over the other and then ignoring that they are both flawed is very dumb.

Exactly, everyone keeps saying Minato's trying as if Shizuma isn't too. What do they expect?? For him to quit his job?? What they need is a proper convo on how to not feel lonely and be secure and make up for lost time. THATS A TWO SIDED CONVO

You also missed the entire point because Shizuma is a pushover. One of the sole reason why Minato is always jealous was because he also knew that Shizuma is a person who hardly says NO.
He even still friends with his ex who cheated on him.

The thing with his Director is also fucking stupid and unprofessional. Instead of setting boundaries, he's always coddling the director just bc he said only Shizuma could work with him. So unprofessional.

What's worse is he's still accompanying the director to a coffee and looking for clothes even when he's running late and already made plans for his date.
To top it all, letting the director took him to his date. You are friggim disrespectful to your partner if you think this is okay blud.

Of course it goes without saying that Minato is sometimes overly jealous too, but we can see that he's also trying his best to compromise. Though yeah, both of them need to work their communication.

    Last.
Yes, vet is a demanding job.
But it was also true Shizuma's schedule is too hectic precisely because the director's been asking for his favor for way too much

It was unthinkable for the director to always ask for Shizuma especially in the latest chap where he still asks shizuma even when he knows he had a date
And that stupid mofo agrees??? Even when he already made plans and someone could actually be a substitute for him???

    Yeah that is DISRESPECTFUL.
I know that he loves his job, but atp just break up with Minato. He's fcking too pushover and minato needs a therapy and a lover who knows his boundaries

Thank you for your comment This is literally what I thought since days ago but I'm too scared to voiced it out because it looked like I'm the only one who thinks like this

I loooveee Minato but I feel that this time he's really selfish and his jealousy is overboard imo

And I really don't understand why people demanding Shizuma to quit his job? That he worked so hard to get into? Just to get caged?? By his lover???

But Minato voiced that to him. That's the point, that they both should communicate better. The buying clothes was just to not go to the clinic to change and be later, and the doctor didn't know about the date until Shizuma told him. Minato can't find somebody who knows how to say No, because someone who has clear boundaries would not allow for Minato to attempt to limit their lives in every way, just to make him have peace of mind. Someone who knows how to say NO would say NO even to Minato, no exceptions. That's my point, they fit together exactly because they are both deeply wrong.

Jealousy to that extent isn’t normal and Shizuma was the person that got cheated on. He is loyal and should trusted as such? Blaming Shizuma solely for this issue and saying Minato being jealous is perfectly fine is wild.

Yes!!! If Shizuma wasn’t a pushover he would never be with someone so controlling! Plus he would likely get offended that Minato doesn’t trust him!

I love Minato too (I even preordered his nendroid but not Shizuma’s). But I can still hold him accountable and hope that he continues to grow and change for the better (mainly becoming more trusting). Minato has HUGE trust issues that have always been shown as a flaw so idk why everyone is treating like he’s in the right and Shizuma is in the wrong. That’s now how relationships work!

People demanding Shizuma quit or be rude simply don’t understand how real jobs work nor how Japanese society works.
