Let’s put together the pieces

I’m seeing some comments implying the director is a trans woman. That’s presumptive to say since he could also be cross dressing for personal reasons not yet revealed.
1) Eng trans can be misleading. Japanese language does not require the use of gender pronouns. Most of the time the subject is identified through sentence context. We’ve seen this in other mangas where two people go on a blind date and don’t realize they’re both males until meeting each other. Which means we don’t know if the director has been using she/her pronouns and if people have been referring to them that way. The older female doctor at the clinic definitely knows the director is a man, so maybe the gender pronouns have been left out this whole time but in English translation we were given “she/her”.

2) Family troubles/trauma. Director is envious of Shizuma and all the support he has and how he deals with others. Director’s father (from prev mentions) seems to want him to cut his hair (implies being against cross dressing), and looking at the pic in his closet maybe he’s cross dressing his (late? twin?) sister, and the short hair one is him in the pic. Also, Shizuma was not afraid to show off his gay relationship, and director envies that he’s so opened and people around him are so accepting of it.

3) Director is getting together with Tatsumi FOR SURE!
