i just realized mid-typing this that the reason why Youngwon hasn’t told Hyunie is because he probably has in every reincarnation, but since Hyunie dies every time, he always forgets, so Youngwon has given up on telling him because he’s afraid of Hyunie dying and forgetting everything once again. hohyun is a whole grown man, and not a pet. despite his key role in determining the fate of the world, he is not simply a puppet, but a human with his own thoughts, that NO ONE, not even youngwon can fully understand.
i understand where you’re coming from, but despite the help that youngwon has given him, hohyun has NO actual obligation to listen to him, especially when he’s acting like that.
If i was youngwon, i’d rather try to beg him to stay (maybe not his personality). Showing vulnerability is probably more effective than just yelling your head off, without trying to reason with the other party.
i wasn’t trying to make Hyunie out to just being a dog with no free-will, of course he can do whatever he wants and feel however he feels, but i feel like even if Youngwon is an asshole about it and is probably pent up from all the other reincarnations, Hyunie knows that he comes from a good place. i understand that Hyunie is now growing into a naturally independent person who’s getting more and more curious, but if Youngwon is *this* adamant on making him stay, maybe there’s a reason and he should maybe listen every once in a while? not all the time, but some to build trust between the two. if Youngwon can trust that Hyunie will listen to him, maybe he’ll be more willing for Hyunie to explore on his own, rather than yelling at him to either stay put or beside him.
