When I first read it, it seemed like a cop-out to me. Chan-il getting a gf seemed like the ONLY way for skylar to be able to move on and even begin to consider cirrus after he blackmailed and SA’d him. But you’re definitely right about it making sense; it was just wishful thinking on my part lol.

And majority of the readers plus the plot itself is already on their side so was it ever that serious? Like your little psychiatric inpatient escapee is going to get a happy ending relax. we like him cos hes painted as a bad person, when he IS a bad person. hes not like jaekyung where the writer tries convincing everyone that hes a good person. we like him BECAUSE hes horrible, and he knows that, and so does the writer. we like him as a character, because hes a complicated, well written character. a character doesn't have to be good morally to be liked by the audience. if youre only capable of liking morally correct charas go read an isekai. its the same way people like the joker and harley quinn. a character thats good no matter what and has an inhumane level of empathy is boring and very very very unrelatable, + most the stuff you mentioned happened when he was a toddler and incapable of emotional regulation. he didnt even KNOW what death meant at that age, + he clearly was alr struggling with some sort of mental issue at that age, so imagine how bad it got when his mom disappeared, his dad wouldnt let him be sad, and then his dad said he wished cirrus died and he hated cirrus. a child cant process that. obviously he said he hated his dad, all he wanted to do was grieve but his dad wasnt letting him or himself be vulnerable and cry in peace. in that situation, you hug the child and say you miss the mom too. you let them come to terms with their sadness, and understand that the mom wont come back no matter how much they cry. you let them depend on you. You DONT force them to bottle it in. thats how you raise an emotionally instable child. this is evident as for his fathers happiness, he forced himself to not be sad when he was doing the coloring. summary; he was too young to understand ANYTHING, and hes traumatised. he needs therapy, a good break from human beings and a massive hug.

Do you lack the ability to understand nuance? I don't think anyone here is defending him the original comment painted Cirrus as a character that should only make black or white decisions, he's a flawed character but you also need to understand the reasons behind that. Y'all are simply hating on Cirrus to increase your ego, most ppl understand he isn't a good person.
