I’m glad I’m not alone. I don’t really agree with JK actions at all but I think the idea that ‘rich people cannot have issues because they have access to professionals’ is disturbing. In the way that having issues doesn’t excuse you bad behavior but saying that because someone’s rich they don’t have the right to have issues is just as ludicrous.

I was thinking about the same thing, I always observe the extent to which the author pushes their toxic character to be worthy of redemption later, at least for me.
Maybe I had high hopes that any past trauma had been associated with the underworld, mafia, gangs, blood, something scary. I mean, we're about to truly find out what happened in her childhood, I should wait longer to evaluate the author's trauma arc.

Real shit. I know the author is going to string the violin for the ml’s backstory and im not gonna feel anything for him, but that’s honestly the author fault for making him such an irredeemable character cus this man’s good traits is that he’s conventionally attractive and he’s kind sometimes. Like anything else??
Personally I feel like if he had more moments of kindness/empathy towards Dan and he had less angry outbursts and just a better handle of his character then maybe I would have some form of empathy but it’s hard to do that when he’s just an ass 24/7… but that’s just my opinion

I didn’t necessarily mean that rich people can’t have problems, just that other people seem to have been pointing out his behavior for a while and he has easier access to getting the help that he needs to become a better version of himself. Rich people can obviously be fucked up and have problems of their own. But I think that it’s important to take the difference in their financial status’s into account when looking at their characters. I understand your point that I had overlooked how rich people can be just as messed up. But Jaekyung does have power and privileges that would allow him to work through the issues he has and why he feels the need to treat others like they’re less than him. Plus he seems to be regularly called out by the people around him for his behavioral issues. Sorry if this comes off rude at all, I’m not great at tone control when it comes to typing out my thoughts. I appreciate the input though as that is something I hadn’t really considered or explained in my original comment.
The author is, in my opinion, a bit shameless in the way they’re trying to make us pity Jaekyung after all this time. You can already tell that the author is about to utilize all the same tropes that other stories do to make us understand the ml and his behaviors, while not realizing that they’ve taken they’re character to the point of no return. Like okay, Jaekyung has probably gone through some pretty messed up shit in his childhood. But can u really look at his potential past and say that it’s worse than what Dan has gone through in the past or even present? And even if it is worse, that is no excuse when he’s rich and has access to mental health professionals that can help fix his character flaws. Whereas Dan has had no money, but manages to have empathy for others regardless and is kind to even the shittiest of people like Jaekyung. I understand everyone reacts to their trauma in a different way, but that trauma reaction is an explanation, not an excuse.
