this manhwa is cute and all but it has so many plot holes there is like barely any chemistry nor are there any major events that caused black haired guy to like him so much, and the mc doesn't seem to have much of a reason to like him either. also, i know its a manhwa and its not real, but why is their relationship so accepted??? like its not like i WANT DESPERATELY for there to be homophobia, but it feels like its written like a shoujo insteal of a bl. maybe once they mention how others are a little reluctant about their marriage, but other than that, i wish more plot and dialogue was surrounding the fact that they're gay.
no because like actually the mahwa feels so straight, like its not mandatory, but it feels weird that everyone refers to the mc as beautiful and pretty and not handsome or anything that makes it feel like they're two men dating, like honestly this manhwa could switch the mc out for woman and nothing would change.

it just feels kinda forced and unnatural, and there arent really any substantial characters and they all feel kinda shallow, like none of them are really special and they're all really passive and happy. its like the author doesn't want any drama at all because the black haired guy started off cold, he started liking him, they start liking each other, they get married, everyone approves, happy ever after. theres like no villain characters or any real problems that make the story interesting. its cute on an outside level but i feel like its not really that good or interesting of a read, just sorta cute.

I get what you mean. I like wholesome fluff as much as the next guy but this feels too "safe" when i think about it. I dont want them to suffer through any homophobic scenarios or anything. But the in the latest chptr mc said and i quote "is odly Conservative yet liberating here" like huh? I think you might have a point that the author doesnt want to touch on any heavy subject/topic and to keep the theme light-hearted. But at the same time you cant bake a cake and eat it too yannoo. You cant just say something about how rigid, strict, Conservative etc etc a world, place or someone etc is and then follow up with a nothing-burger. Is like saying "this place is hell and grim, then the next scene is sunshine and rainbows with happy laughing children running around.
Also i legit forgot that this is an isekai where mc tranported into a BOOK. I don't know why that info keep escaping me XD
Dont you just love it when a completely diff person possess another persons body and nobody could tell the difference? XD sometimes i feel like its better to just make mc reincarnate to his past self instead of the whole "i became a book character " cause the mc is so ooc in this book world. We didnt get to know the og body enough besides him being an abused hothouse flower and the mc on his own . For example TCF, we know the og Cale enough. Despite being a drunken lout he does in his own way shows that he cares for people and his fam. Og cale picks fights but never with random civilians, is always crooks or scums, when his mother dies he consoled his father, and he was even shown to console his half younger siblings too. He for some reason is just unhappy. And then theres kim our mc and we know his personality his. Both Cale has been differentiated . But despite that tcf kinda also falls under that "nobody could tell whats up with the og body"

I get the rest of your complaints but i don't really understand how "you can change him with a girl and nothing else changes" and "its written like shoujo" are negative points

Who care if that doesn't change anything ? There's ton of het romance where nothing would change if one of the main lead changed gender either, and i don't really see how you'd do a distinction between how a bl or a het romance is written

I wouldn't mind if there was no homophobia but the lines of the mc last chapters made me went "?" as well lol

(also completely off topic but "shojo" just means that the content is destined to girls not "romance", there's shojos that are BLs (my love mixup for example) or not romance at all (Natsume's book of friends) and romances that are shonen because destined to a male audience)

sorry i felt like i wasnt really clear on that point i meant like although its a bl, it doesnt really feel like a romance between men and how they treat and refer to the mc is more so feminine which really erks me, it might be just me overreacting but it just feels like the mc is automatically assuming the role of the "woman" as if its a straight relationship and it doesnt feel much like theyre both men which is really icky when writing about a gay couple because it feels a bit like fetishization to me.

Oh you're totally on point but I will tell a few things here:
That isn't a plot hole. That's just shallow writing
Many BLs that are fluffy and don't want negativity or drama in the relationship aspect don't touch the topic that it's infact, a gay relationship.
So in short, this is just a light hearted smooth flowing story where u can't expect much dynamic characters, lots of intense plots, or much intelligence/logic in characters.
Don't overthink and close ur brain to enjoy ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

Yeah fair, there's a lot of heteronormativity in BLs where the top is a big masculine muscly MAN while the top is a skinny short pure UwU feminine guy. I liked the first season but for now the second one focus more on the plot of the novel than before, i hope it goes back to focus on the main leads relationship soon

Hello, im just here to express joy over og cale being mention (≧∇≦) heheh.
About og body though, i wonder about that a lot too. Maybe they all thought og cale's years of "trashing" is just a phase so when he suddenly change, they all just feels relief and moved on from it? Ogcale's also contributing through maintaining a distance with Everyone. And doing the act for years will inadvertently makes everyone believes it as truth and steer clear from him, so in short nobody got to know the real face of "trash cale" giving way for kim to mix in easily. Which is great but also really sad and lonely.
Maybe there's also things behind the story we dont know of, so there's a lot of headcanons going on about ogcale. Really fun to read it all.

Oh as for og eugene, maybe they have similar personalities. Or it's because he doesnt have any close people at all and the people that should be the ones are all evil towards him. So, in a way, unlike kim who mix well due to distance, eugene mix well because there's just nobody around anynore that would notice the difference.

...i just made myself sad. Haha

I get what ur a saying but imma ignore it cause I love reading this manga. Sure it doesn’t make sense but it’s also a fantasy world/story where there’s curses, holy power, dark energy and apparently zombies? love the fact that there’s no homophobia in the story tbh. Though, they’re not completely accepted. It’s nice, and I honestly get tired of reading about homophobia (before anyone hates on me for saying this, I’m queer!). It’s a good (cute) manga for escapism and that’s exactly what I read it for.

As for the manga feeling straight. I kinda get what you’re saying. For me though, I think I can easily ignore that because feminine gay men exist. Couples like the mc and ml (masc and femme) exist in real life. Also, men are called are pretty/beautiful all the time online. So that’s not a big deal for me.

I agree cause there are already lots of other bl manhwas with heavy plots which sometimes are too hard to even comprehend and read. So this one is really light-hearted, and I love it for that. Its like an island with just rainbows and unicorn after reading a really heavy one. Of course if we compare this with others, than maybe this will be a little too light. People who like heavy plots will not be absolutely satisfied with this. But come on, this is not at all bad. I like how the story is just floating around without any hard thinking. So I myself is very satisfied with how the story is going on.
