I saw a reddit post that theorised the author might not have wanted it categorized as bl but could potentially still have the lgbt elements. Maybe it's because the story is so plot based rather than centered on romance that it didnt feel right for them to market it as bl for readers who search that tag only for romance. I really hope that's the case and not that this whole thing is just queer baiting/selling out bc of stigma around bl manga. The post mentioned being terrified that this is gonna be a bury your gays situation and im scared too ngl
