Idk about others but for me it's because the updates are so slow and I have to reread the shit from the start and when the update is here again the whole plot is once again forgotten

idk why you all are hating on the backstory, i personally think it’s actually really good and well written. ofc i miss the current story/timeline but this is needed to know when going forward into the book and i feel like this backstory is much more enjoyable to read compared to a lot of other long backstories :,)
