This is told at the beginning of the Manhwa, I don't know which chapter because it's been a long time, but it's at the start of the story. Ian was prepared to move to the USA and practice motocross, then TJ sends some guys from the gang to beat him up, which ends up being more serious than expected and Ian breaks his leg. He goes to visit Ian in the hospital to tell him, but Ian doesn't let him. About the prison, Ian kills the guy in self-defense, but when TJ is talking to the lawyers, and they say Ian won't be imprisoned, he tells them to send him to jail for two years.

I'm not defending TJ, but I think he didn't broke Ian's legs as it wasn't really mentioned that way, and he had to send Ian to prison so he could save him from getting killed by the members who witness Ian accidentally killed a guy in a fight?
Maybe I interpreted everything in a wrong direction┗( T﹏T )┛ maybe it will make sense later on the story? (๑•ㅂ•)? It could also be that there are details left explained? I dunno...
