Agreed, I feel like the biggest reason Jaekyung gets way more flack and Ilay gets none is cuz Jk is constantly ripping into Dan's ass metaphorically, verbally, or physically every damn ch. Versus Ilay whose behavior towards Tay just doesn't feel as bad which like you mentioned is partly because Tay isn't a passive victim who let's Ilay step all over him and will fight and argue back. Also because he never srsly hurts Tay. Not excusing sa ofc but Ilay never takes things too far with Tay and listens to him to some extent except when he forefully went all the way with Tay after the poison incident. Buh compare that to JK who is constantly coming after Dan or fcking him selfishly and roughly wihout listening to a single word he says. Jk has zero fcking cool and attitude control compared to Ilay who manages to be calm, controlled, and scary at the same time without blowing his top at every lil thing. Didn't mean for this to turn into a shitting on Jinx rant buh I couldn't help but add to ur point that Tay and Ilays bantering is very satisfying. Imo despite Ilays crazy ass behavior they have some of the best chemistry and banter I've seen between a crazy top x bottom fed up wit his shih
Sorry but there is no comparison between them. Jaekyung is literally a cliched written char, meanwhile illay has a lot of depth and is so much darker moral wise that it makes obvious who's a better character (worse). Same with Dan, who's extremely cliche the naive damsel in distres trope so when compared to taeui. Passion just has a much more darker writting. And I feel like we are used to ilay's maniacs that we don't really expect anything, because he was introduced in such a way in the story.
uhm.. hmm I mean as how you commented we are already comparing right? hehe I think I just focused on how Tae is written leaving points on how Ilay was written which maybe why my comment came across in a different way to you.. and yes I do agree on what you said btw that Ilay and Tae isnt the cliche characters unlike those two! Ig, the point of my comment here is how the characters are written (both ml and mc) will make an impact on how readers will continue and enjoy reading and not much have anything bad to say even if Ilay is much much more evil than JK.

Let’s be real Jaekyung doesn’t even a hold a candle to Ilay when it comes to being a red flag asshole. He SA-ed Tae, he is a murderer, and the list goes on.. Man, infront of Ilay Jaekyung will just look like a helpless baby lol. But the reason why we don’t curse Ilay more than Jaekyung each chapter is bec Taeui fights and answers back to Ilay, he even made the decision to run away from him and gave him a parting gift lol. He’s terrified of him, yes but he’s not a weak pushover unlike Kim Dan that’s why there’s a bit of a satisfaction for us readers seeing them banter.
