I think it was more of hoping for a stern rejection. From the looks of it, the MC is easily readable so Sumire perceives it as the MC maybe lying on having a relationship and is just not ready for one.
Yeah but that's not a reason for him to just come out if he doesn't want to, that's not a easy thing, I felt that was inconsiderate of his coworker
