Not all background stories are meant to make the reader sympathize with the character. Its just more details and insight as to why a character is a way they are. Here they are showing why that girl is so obsessed with Ilya and even stole her carrige design.

I totally agree. My comment was based on someones previous comment pages ago that claimed her past should make us feel sorry for her...or maybe I understood incorrectly. Regardless, I just wanted to share that I dont and wont feel sorry for this character. I dont hate her, just dont pity her.m
That stella chick or whatever, is that story suppose to make the readers sympathize with her? Before I heard her story I thought she was annoying and didnt really matter, now shes annoying, jealous, immature,and just..idk but her backstory doesnt make you sympathize with her.
