Agreed! I hate shit like this. I've hated it even when I was reading books ad a teenager. Ugh.
Our Sunny Days Is such a Healthy MasterPiece and I can't wait til It comes back and shows us the obstacles they have to go through. It does contain trauma but it shows it differently than these toxic stories. I'm sure we'll go through some ups and down but I think it'll be Healthy ups and downs.
The worst part is most consumers are literally underage girls. I have seen my students (highschool and middle school) fantasize and normalizing those as 'real show of love' and 'real sign of love'.
i think that’s the issue with yaoi, they get into very weird sexual dynamics fast in 90-95% of yaoi and just throw romanticised sexual assault in the readers faces but a lot of readers find it sexy for some reason. shounen ai is much easier to read, since there’s usually no smut, the authors just focus on developing good romance. i hardly read yaoi these days because all the popular ones have super toxic MLs like jinx and painter of the night
Maybe it's because I regularly read Bls and Shit but, Trauma, Gaslighting, Obsessions, and Force are always gonna be in a Bl. one of them gotta be there. It's VERY Rare to find a BL without one of the 4. It is what it is, that's the way they (The Authors) live.
