He doesn't see it as a secret so he doesn't tell him. The misunderstanding is on Karel's side and it gets worse cuz of it. Sasya doesn't know Karel thinks he has a wife a kid.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Sasya has never seen Levin in a romantic way whatsoever and I’m sure he would expect everyone to know that’s his assistant/maid. So the thought of others perceiving her as his wife must have never crossed his mind. And as for Charles, he was going to tell Karel about him right before he got interrupted but since he said “secrets” and, as you mentioned, Sasya doesn’t see Charles as a “secret” to keep, the thought is not crossing his mind rn.
