Ngl I don’t feel it much. Like I feel for switch scenes in certain manhwas but I can’t see it in this one Jay has a grasp on shin like no other, he just feels more dom. Yes there’s def some typical sub kinks in here that are portrayed with Jay more than shin, but I feel like a switch scene would have to be forced
No I definitely see what you’re saying too, I think I just want it so bad it’s coloring my view. I do really think though that Jay would be open to bottom (from the top for sure).
The second scene with Shin where he goes down on Shin in that alley, he does not give a shit if the goons see him in a submissive position. And generally there’s much more give and take here then in other BLs where the top just takes and takes.
Shin wants him and isn’t afraid to initiate and to push. That’s what I love so so much about this story. It’s a gem (tangent but I cannot shut up about the unequal equal romance here). I can see Jay wanting this form intimacy to drive Shin wild and to stake his claim.
I am not getting my hope up too high though, I’ve been disappointed before even when it was so perfect for the BL (Smyrna looking at you).
Interesting theories although I'd have to disagree about 1) Jay possibly being an adoptee. I would've agreed before chapter 45 came out but Jake's POV debunks this. He has a near death experience and quite recalls the memory of when he first met Shin at the shopping center ( chapter 1) There was no mention of him knowing Shin beforehand. He didn't even know his name until later when he confronted Shin after getting information from Izmel in the truck. Not to mention, Jake told Shin at the diner that his dad was strict and that both his parents are alive and well. I think shins line about someone escaping beforethem just meant that someone was able to get out of the situation he and Gren were in. Not that it has to do with Jake necessarily. Him meeting Shin was a mere coincidence and a "lucky" encounter as Jake puts it.
I hope you’re right. I have no problems with the story going either ways. I will say that both this instances aren’t full proof. I don’t think the creators would spoil Jay knowing Shin so quickly, if it does happen they are definitely going to want to obfuscate or hide the fact to the audience hence him not mentioning he knew Shin or knowing his name. Regarding the parents thing he could have been adopted. I don’t think either of this explanations are a stretch too. Let’s see what happens. I’d be happy with them being complete strangers, the whole childhood friends thing is so overdone anyway.

Making two predictions because the author has been really good at laying the groundwork for later plot points:
1) others have already pointed it out but I am 75% sure that Jay was an adoptee too. That throw away line about someone escaping before them has to be relevant. The build up of Shin not knowing who Jay really is has to be building to this. I don’t love it but I don’t hate it. I love the author so so much I trust them.
2) there has to be a switch scene somewhere (hoping and praying). Lots of talk about receiving and Jay gone down both ways already. I’m less certain about this
