i know rigghtttt!! his dedication to the fans are just insane...! remember the puppy doll suit(?), where he went to dozens of subway ads and meet so many people there i still teared up thinking about it can't wait for his relationship to grow deeper with the members!
Idk but i feel.like the reason why he didn't want to be 1st was bc he wanted to quit after a year but with being 1st he would feel like he honestly wanted to be a proper idol. It could be also that it would be harder for people to just forget him and let him retire in peace. But after seeing his face after the announcement i belive it's more of the first that he just cares about it so much not only being a idol but also being with friend and feeling people supporting him.
