I had to question myself, after that line, hahahaha. I have curly what kind of person am I.

This is 100% a guess, but maybe it's because most people there don't naturally have curly hair and those that do get perms. So, maybe it's perceived as lying because it's not their natural hair texture, and if they can lie about that, what else can they lie about? ╮(￣▽￣)╭
