it's sparse enough that it still feels super novel, i could only count on one hand the number of times i've read switch couples and they didn't have stereotypical role ideals projected onto them

I think the seme in this one is flavourless n bland so I understand where u’re coming from. Also not very related to the current topic but I enjoy a “feminine" seme x "manly" bottom trope when it’s well done. However sometimes I don’t like when people want them to switch bc I don’t see any of these ppl when it comes to the opposite trope... like there’s so many of these stories n they are asking for an already rare trope (same goes for "manly" seme x "manly" bottom) to turn into a switch. Don’t get me wrong I am a sucker for versatile couples n there is barely NONE compared to the other rare tropes. However I believe n hope that switch couple will eventually get their time soon as some bl authors are continuing to explore new dynamics. I just want to point out the double standards for some n leave the already rare tropes alone as they are lucky enough to got their small opportunity to shine.
