Even when she does have moments of softness or pseudo affection for him, if you look closely, they are completely random and nonsensical. They don’t match her personality at all. Rowena is complex, traumatized, and independent, but the authors just dumps random unconditional affection for Killian into her because authors prefer to dumb down a mistreated fl than make the ml abuser change/repent
That part is actually realistic to me. As someone constantly around an abuser, trust me the random bouts of affection are real and just as frustrating as you think. You can love someone AND hate them. And it exhausting to be angry when you are so sad. Him taking advantage of her exhaustion is also an abuser’s signature move.
I’ve never had a story make me so tired before. The story is intense and sad and the common section is toxic as f@ck. Like the victim blaming in the comments is actually insane.
People have been giving the Fl shit for “forgiving “ the ML like 20-30 chapter and yet… SHE NEVER FORGAVE HIM. Fucking insanity.
Then they will be like “ well, she’ll forgive him eventually so I’m angry”. Angry for ending we haven’t gotten yet?! The story is exhausting but it’s not the cycle of abuse and forgiveness the comments section would have you believe.
