they reconciled, acted like a couple again, got married again and happy ending. there were side stories but I haven't read it yet so idk if they had a child or adopted the boy she saved from the war
i personally like this story, especially the novel version :,( i bawled my eyes when FL pulled off hanna baker coz i felt her pain and exhaustion. ML is shitty like this is because he was physically and mentally tortured pretty badly and betrayed by colleagues so he wants to make them pay for ruining his life (i can't remember how FL's father is linked to this). but they got *beep beep beep spoiler* in the end so...
