Ai was "cool" and a lot more mature than i had ever thought to be possible for that kid. I like how he professed his feelings, and boldly took some steps forward. I also admired how he let Rin go and didn't selfishly cling to him (in a way that Makoto selfishly continued for a bit)
As for Sousuke, I really felt a pang in my chest for him. He's bee in love with Rin for ages. Only to witness him pine for different people. Having to bury his own feelings so as to not ruin his friendship. I felt for him more than i could feel for any other character. I don't think I'd be capable of doing that if I were in his position. He's a lot more stronger. Or maybe, sadly, the writer didn't delve further into that. But i guess it's ok since she clearly stated who the main pairing would be in this. I wish Sousuke would be happy.
I felt exactly the same regarding Sousuke! :(( Poor guy! Being rejected even before he got to express his feelings in words, knowing that they will never be answered b/c Rin is in love with someone else and yet sticking by Rin's side like the good friend he is! Such strength and torture :(
