That's not quite how the story goes. It's Akihito's friends, who tell him that there is a demon in the shrine that comes out at night. Takato (one of Akihito's friends) claims to have seen it with his very own eyes and says that it's gigantic, with a scary face and glowing eyes. Takato says that it has defeated many enemies all on its own and that it surely can't be human. So Akihito takes his baseball bat to go and check it out himself. He finds Asami sleeping inside the shrine. At first he thinks it's a corpse, until Asami starts to move and slowly wakes up. Akhito dashes out of the shrine. On his return, Akihito tells his friends, it's alright because it is in fact not a demon, but the protector of the shrine (which he says was beautiful!). He tells them, that the protector (aka Asami) is gone now, because he (Akihito) left him some snacks. In the last shot we see Asami, still a bit drowsy, sitting up on the floor in the shrine - and to his surprise finds the snacks, that Akihito left for him.

You're welcome! :) I don't think so, to be honest. Asami won't recognise Akihtio or make the connection, especially since they only saw each other for a moment and Asami was really drowsy. And Akihito was still a kid and I don't think he would remember him from such a brief moment 20 years later. They wouldn't even think to make that connection, I feel. But who knows? Maybe sensei is going to bring it up one day. :) It certainly would be cute.

Well, the summary I did was based on the English translation, so that's a proper one. ;) Pretty sure it will be up here, soon, after the usual waiting period (it's from the same source that has provided all the other English uploads here in the recent past). Regarding the grandmother, no problem, I can clear that up for you: When Takato takes about having seen the "demon", one of the other boys (we don't see who says it in the picture) replies that his grandmother visits the temple every day and that he's scared now. But the description of the demon is by Takato, not the grandmother. He clearly says that he saw it and then describes it (huge, scary face, glowing eyes etc.). Regarding what Akihito says after his return from the shrine: See my summary above. So on his return Akihito tells the others that it's not a demon, but the protectior of the shrine (and that it is beautiful). He tells them it's alright, that it is gone now because he (Akihtio) left him some snacks. And then the last picture is drowsy Asami sitting up in the shrine to find the snacks lying next to him.

As for your question, I'm really sorry, but I can't answer that, because I'm not really sure what it is you would like to know, reponce. Again, I'm really sorry... :/ Maybe someone else can work it out.
