He. Has. Trauma. (TW: RANT COMMENT)

How long will it take for you to understand Sunbae is traumatized by the years he was stuck in an unhealthy relationship begging to be loved as he one-sidedly gave all of himself to a person that was too scared to love him back? Hoin knows full well what it means to be in a relationship with Sunbae, it's his choice, he loves him that much and has chosen to forgive him. Sunbae apologized over and over again, Hoin obviously accepted the apology because that's the size of his love, he's willing to trust Sunbae.
"Oh now that he is in a relationship he needs to be perfect to make up for his previous mistakes and leave his trauma at the door"
Wake the fuck up
The real thing isn't like that, the fact they have conversations like they had this chapter is what makes it beautiful and complex.
They're people with strengths and insecurities, as well as issues with communication, in the end they're adults making their own choices.
If you hate them so much (god knows why, do you hate neurodivergent flawd people?), just stop reading and go do something else as you wait for the author to finally give Woojin some attention.

YESSSS, say it louder. I love this story and its realistic representation of a relationship. Not everything is sunshine and rainbows, people can love each other and still hurt each other. I love the complexity!

Thank you for saying this! Ive been unsure of what i think about their relationship, and maybe its my own trust issues and being influenced by comments making me not see things the way Hoin would see it, and how you see it, so I’m gonna try and let this perspective sink in!

Those people who are hating on the characters or just the story in general is either never had any toxic relationship, never had a relationship or just simply delusional that they think this kind of plot doesn't exist/doesn't acknowledge it ..

    Plot is perfect

the thing is that everyone understands that he has trauma and personally I really enjoy slow burn but it's not what's important here.
remember we're in the side stories, side stories are supposed to be bonuses for when the story has ended but you want to give your readers treats, in «Lucky Paradise» if you read just the main story you would be very unsatisfied (as the fans were).
it just feels like the author wanted to end the story on a bittersweet note but with all the backlash he got he was pressured in fixing things by the fans and his editor so now he's just adding bs
the problem with «lucky paradise» is the writing, I've read many touching angsty story between two ppl with trauma who make mistakes without getting bored once. but with this story it just feels like the author is trying to purposefully stretch the angst and the story for as long as possible, things come out of nowhere like the fortune teller who basically told them that they're fated to be together so no matter what happened in the past it's whatever bc they're in love, the ex who suddenly make a comeback they all feel like intentional trigger for uke which happens in a lot of story but here it just feels unnatural bc the manhwa never had a spiritual setting.
Everyone wants their story to end because such bad writing is painful to read but we're still attached to the characters so we want to see how it's going to end

I see your point!! That makes a lot of sense, I don't take issue with people who believe the story should have ended before, or should have had a different ending. I too was dissatisfied with the sudden ending of the main story, so the extras did make me happy. I'm not in a place of criticizing the author's writing (I'm sure it has plenty of flaws) since I read this story for the characters, because I'm attached to them...
My issue is with people who keep on reading and leaving hate comments because they hate >sunbae< >as a character< when his actions and feelings make complete sense for the situations he has been through and keeps going through. Damn, some people treat him like a monster in the comments when he's a young man with trauma experiencing his first serious romantic relationship!
Thank you for being nice! When you put the inconsistencies and absurdities this last little arc had, it's very clear how the author seems to be just halfassing it with these extras. I won't lie, it has been entertaining for me, but that's because I like the characters enough that I'm not bored now, but I understand that, for someone who read this story and found it just okay, these extras aren't nearly ideal...
I also want to see Woojin's story, since he's also one of the characters I really like!

I also agreed with your first comment! I just wanted to point out the reason as to why some ppl might be angry. I personally don't like sunbae that much but I understand his character and action so I don't take much issue with it, I'm mostly here for Ho-in (wish we could have seen more of his sly personality tho), Woojin and the art haha
it's just frustrating to think of the wasted potential of all the characters as well as the amazing art

Having your own trauma doesn't mean you get to hurt other people? That can be an explanation but not an excuse.

He apologized though, but regardless, my comment wasn't trying to excuse his flaws, but to explain to people that see him like a monster that he's just a traumatized young adult.
