"Fun toy to mess around" learn metaphor, he means that potato is a fun person to have sex. Plus thats how fuck buddy works; you don't enjoy having sex with your fuck buddy aka you're sick of them and that means its either you cut them off or just abandon them. And in his previous statement before he mention "fun toy to mess around" he compliments potato so well and i think thats really a first sign that he will fall in love with potato based on my experienced on reading a lot of bls. The side story is literally cliche that almost bl story has that kind of opening; got drunk> sex> misunderstanding.
