Er....dude, that's a love triangle. It can be as deep, as dirty and as rough as the author decides. Point is, there are 3 actors and one loses in the end. What mechanisms the author employs is up to them as there are no rules beyond that.

i feel like the author doesnt know what they wanna do. do they want an uke that flips back and forth between two men where one is toxic but has a long history and one is wholesome and new or do they want a story about him escaping a toxic and abusive situation through having a healthier relationship with someone else, cause u cant really sell option number 1 if the toxic package includes this much textbook (sexual) abuse, but at the same time the author seriously downplays how abusive the red haired prick is. I dont get what it is we the audience is supposed to be feeling, i for one feel gross and like the poor black haired dude doesnt deserve being thrown into this drama lol
