So…….the new novel has caused a lot of controversy amongst our fellow readers because of Kuroda's rape/Asami's subsequent rape of Akihito. But! -
Putting that aside, although still addressing THAT EVENT at the beginning of the Finder series (that-we-all-kind-of-wish-didn't-happen) - what would have been YOUR ideal first encounter for our boys? What scenario would YOU have picked for the lovely Asami and Akihito if indeed Finder was YOUR series?
Would you still've started them out on combative grounds? Would you still establish them within the cat/mouse dynamic that we have all become accustomed to?
Or would you have Asami woo Akihito? Gently whisper sweet nothings to him, wine and dine him before jumping his bones to make sweet, sweet love to him?

for me i wanted to see more akihito fighting spirit, the way he fell to asami's arms was too easy! I, for one, almost quit in reading this manga because of chap1. The only reason why I stayed on after that was because of you lovely people (づ￣ ³￣)づ Specifically the comments you made of the series. The comments were so positive that it had me thinking that there must be something in this manga for people to keep coming back and read and say good stuff about it. And I fell in love with the story and its characters but always I kept thinking of that 1st chap.
A 1st meeting between Asami and Akihito where there is no rape is what I wanted at first but in retrospect I think that wouldn't work. Asami is a big boss in the underworld . He is no saint, we all know that. Akihito is a photojournalist bent on exposing bad people. He knows the risk that his kind of job entails. Him getting caught and raped by Asami might be the 1st bad experience he had on his job but that doesn't mean that that situation won't happen in the future. I'm not condoning rape and it'll be good for the genre when the mangakas stop using it as a trope but the way they met was very realistic. I might hate it but it certainly worked (⌒▽⌒)
Scenario 1 code name Takaba Akihito the love mission. the jumping off the roof was a ploy to meet Asami. Takaba is really a ninja working for the gov. He ties Asami up( has his way with him) and tries to convince him to work as a spy for the JPN. gov. "They can't afford me I make more than the gov". he replies. Scenario 2 Takaba has been stalking underworld kingpin/ bus. man for two years trying to get the goods on him . Always the man is just out of his reach. If he did not know better Takaba would swear Asami was playing tag with him on purpose. He would always get to the appointed place 2sec. after Asami had just left and would not be able to get any pics of him and his dirty dealings. This day, he was lucky, he walked in on the in the back alley. Every thing went to hell. Takaba saw it first, The gun aimed right at Asami , he just started taking pic. of the assasin, throwing him off Asami pulled his weapon and fired. The guy lay dead on the ground. I started shaking. Asami cool as ice walked toward me." thanks kid, I owe you" taking my camera and giving me his card." come to my club. I never forget my friends. "Wait you can't just. Come by my club, he said Takaba Akihito. The way that man said my name made me shiver in a good way.
