They are adding some details that weren’t in the novel. Perfect. Because honestly in the novel, even though they kept going “the author lost some of their power” the only main character that seemed to be happening to was Killian. But now it seems the Duke and Duchess are taking Edith side a bit. Also interesting how they’re mentioning the original Edith…looks like she will come up again soon. I’ve always wondered what happened to her and also another character who i wont mention because spoilers.
