I wouldn’t say that considering he did actually stand up to his father which was after his partner got involved. I don’t think readers realize a person from abusive cycle (be it physically mental or financial) won’t change overnight, and it hasn’t been long since Seo and Woo dated I believe.
Unfortunately there are people who are “spineless” in reality, as there are people like Seo. Maybe he needed closure or something, no matter how horrible some family can be, the child in their heart won’t just let go but this is different for all.
I just hope the author doesn’t drag it on. And I hope it’s the father that was hit hehe.

The first few chapters about him and his father I also thought "okay he can't escape him yet" in a sense of he isn't alone in this together because his mom is involved, too. And I even understood why he lashed out at Seo (even though I think he wasn't in the right to do that). But there was THE point in life where he as a victim of abuse got the chance to escape the circle and he didn't grasp it. I hoped for a "my father tried to fucking kill me" and not a "Oh noooo dad please staaaahp it, let me run into a car"
Yeah well that’s how some victims can be unfortunately, especially when he’s relied on himself his whole life. So I can’t hate him, but I do hope he relies on Seo more. In fact they balance each other out.
exactly like i got it that his father is still family and he was a victim and didn’t want to cut him off like that after all those scenes but it got to a point where his father literally almost killed him and he didn’t think to leave him behind? like there’s a limit to how clueless you can be. Defend him for what? Woo has already said he knows it’s wrong to help his father, because his father has hurt him. He is aware. But unfortunately not all victims can just get up and leave especially when it’s their family, even the worst families have a tie to their children who are victims.
