Its mostly because he knows he would not have a day of rest and doesnt want to stay in the worlds most difficult confined place with the most difficult person...But at the same time he is right there which is hilarious and stupid...He wants to find the right time to escape but is failing miserably
He's just an overthinker thats why...I mean he thinks that the ML will kill him if he was found..but it's not like that cause the ML want him to be his cure and became the main wife even though he's a beggar.. it's just that the ML is giving a wrong vibes or vibes thats all..
It's like no one here read the manhwa? He quite literally says, that he strongly believes, that the ML will only use him to get rid of his own yin issue, which is as good as being reborn in a better body. MC could potentially get rid of his yang problem, but for that he needs to be a cultivator, which he is not and the ML has no reason to teach him, as well as he would need a lot of money to hire people to get through the process of getting rid of his yang issue and not die during, which, again, he has no money and ML has no reason to spend that money on him. MC said, that ML will most likely just get rid of his own yin problem, and then he will not need MC anymore, and would kill him off or worse. Since at that point MC would be nothing but some rando with zero fighting skills and no loyalty towards the ML.
Like, sure, we know that this is just a manhwa and ML will end up caring for him, but logically speaking, MC has every reason to believe that he will be killed of by the ruthless leader of the demonic clan after MC lost his usefullness, as well as ML has no motivation to help him with his yang problem.
So far, MC is hoping that by hiding the truth the ML won't hold him in such a tight grip, and he will be able to escape sooner or later. Afterall, currently as far as the ML is concerned, MC only has a bit more yang energy, but won't be able to cure him. Hence, not as important to keep. MC has planned to leave the country once he is free from the demonic cult.
