its because once spices were accessible to more people the rich LITERALLY STOPPED USING THEM because they had to be superior, so they claimed the quality of their ingredients was so high they didnt need spices. WTF

First time hearing that theory but you know what , I kind of think it's true ! Look at all the high end restaurants , they all serve bland foods and talk about the quality of their ingredients. Meanwhile , local restaurants and home cooked food always involves spices. Rich people try to be exclusive and try to act like they are better than everyone. The only way to achieve that is to do everything the common people don't, even though it leads to bland AF food.
