-Fake saint and association/organization trap ML in Modern World (cannot go home to his Historical setting world)
-Fake saint is actually low level guide in Modern World
-Fake saint always go back in between the 2 world to upgrade her level but side effect monsters keep appearing at places she teleport (she is endangering ML og World)
-ML and FL have highest Esper and Guide match
-Fake saint and ML have low Esper and Guide match
-ML was too occupied protecting himself not trusting Fake saint and association/orgqnization
-ML do not trust anyone
-ML love FL and worried they might use or threaten her because she is his weakness so he tries not to show publicly and internally are just super overprotective with isolating FL to their home etc but also doubt what if FL is double agent because he got scammed, he literally have no one to lean too because he is the only one from his world got trapped and kidnap by another world being.. So yea..

ML and MC actually made up and confessed to each other and became lovey dovey in the modern times but MC got partial amnesia after reincarnation and only remembered their relationship at the start. The ML does remember and thinks MC remembers too which is why he is confused to why she’s acting like that.

Omo, then why all the people who said they read the novel hate ML so much? Because even without knowing this part of the spoiler I don't hate him..
