Well every man in this fic are trash the black haired is just the least problematic. You need to remember that while he *liked* Mc she didn't even know it passed year where it looked like he care about ophelia like everyone else, didn't stop Mc from leaving and have fiance talk with fake ophelia but when Mc show up " ohh but I was always I love with you pookie (=・ω・=)" it only make him seems like an hypocrite and ow that he acts on his "feeling" Like the blonde guy it seem their only realizing the closest thing to ophelia is not the fake but Mc so they need her. His only redeeming trait is that he is not straight up psycho and he had least bad ending in game. As for the people who prefer the blonde guy they prefer a ml that discovered his feeling and is psycho possessive that an hypocrite one

I see your point about that but tell me why I feel like the reason why the MC never knew his mutual feelings for her has to do with the fact the MC thought everyone belongs to Ophelia as the og FL. Like she always thinks less of herself in a lot of situations because she keeps comparing herself to Ophelia. I mean even Ophelia drops hints in the flashbacks that she knows the knight dude has a crush on MC. Side note: I totally agree that the blond and long haired dude are straight up psychos.

The MC literally says that if she saw him she would run from him bc she didn't want to handle her own feelings towards him. I mean that's pretty valid, but also he did the same as her and not admit his feelings. Literally they both think the other doesn't like them. Also I think he didn't ask her what she was going through after Ophelia died bc she literally ran away the day after. Like this is clearly the case of fear of being rejected for both of them which is a common trope in romance. Why y'all roasting this man so much LMAO. For the mc, she thinks that "everyone" is inlove w/ ophelia bc it was that way in the game. For the ml, idk the reason but it must've been because of his role in the house as well. She didn't think she was able to change anything in the story, but she did. He fell for her even tho he was supposed to be in love with Ophelia. She can't accept it and she's very close minded due to her experiences as well.

Listen I know she gonna end up with the black haired guy and I'm somewhat waiting/excited to see their relationship but saying we don't realize that it's just they both have feeling for each other and don't know is wrong because we do know it's like that in a lot of stories " oh I loved her but I'm not worthy so I'm gonna take distance and barely communicate and then the girl is like I love him but every time I try to show it he push me away bla bla bla" but at least in those story they are married in this one they are not and like I said coming back to her after he was being set up with fake ophelia make him seem like a hypocrite and letting all that happen make him a coward like if only he was the one who tried to make her a debutante or he protected her from the slap or that we hear that he never stopped looking for her or even better he didn't want to mingle with fake ophelia because he had a lady in his heart would make believe that he was really in love because rn it feels not romantic that's the word I was looking for it doesn't feel romantic
I blame that on the author 's poor storymaking lol there are too many plot holes, which btw I'm not very surprised abt since this is not even a high quality story anyway. It's very simple, imo. The author didn't do a good job setting up the "romantic" storyline that they wanted to portray between the mc and ml. As simple as that. As you have already said, their actions are a lot like that in other stories as well. Idk what you guys are expecting, but I don't really expect much of this story, as I understand that the author is not very skilled at all lol.
Also most of this stuff and sentiment is implied based on certain characters interactions. I mean first of all the ML may have grown up with the MC and Ophelia but he was still a knight in training that they raised to literally escort ppl as a knight. Second of all as an escort he is accompanying fake Ophelia in which she herself notices that he acts distant and with little ambition and thought that's just how he is. However that opinion literally changes when they meet the MC in the village where she herself mentions that he acts totally different than anyone else when being with her. The fake Ophelia literally says that the family is always the ones who decides what she should do, and that includes who accompanies her. And lo and behold who does the family employ, the knight ML.

Why do y'all hate the ML so bad. I think that in the sea of red flags bro is green. Is it bc he hid his feelings for MC while Ophelia was alive? If that's the reason I'm pretty sure he did it bc he was also an unwanted child like the MC and had to find a way to stay in the house. Clearly Ophelia's parents *coughthemom* only kept people around if they played the role they wanted them to play for the daughter. The MC as the friend and the ML as the future fiancee. Not to ignore the fact that they all did develop a friendship to various degrees. Why y'all so harsh on him?
