Girl i love the way you view the story! I don’t like vercion alot cause the perspective was written in the victims view (aka sunwoo) but if you really look close to it he just went through alot as a kid but still dude he so selfish to sunwoo thinking that even as a god he think sunwoo’s eyes should only be on him or on does who worship him. Am i wrong for thinking that?(〜￣△￣)〜
oh i absolutely agree, he is extremely selfish. in the way he interacts with sunwon, simply taking from him, straight up raping him without actually taking his feelings into account. but i also think the way he’s become selfish—because he believes he was specifically chosen by the dawn’s light—is very interesting. he believes because he’s done so much in service of his god, he /deserves/ sunwon, deserves sex with him, deserves for sunwon to have eyes for him only.
but also, no you aren’t wrong at all! you’re not wrong for how you interpret media, it’s all up to personal interpretations.

not necessarily because he’s a good person, he’s clearly not, but i just adore the way he’s written. the way the mc depends on him because he literally has no one else is like horribly tragic. the mc using him as a sexual outlet b/c he just wants to blow off steam and over time has come to accept vercion’s abuse is horrible and awful and it’s a very engaging storyline to me personally. for the mc, vercion and dan are one in the same, and that clearly upsets vercion.
i think many people are upset by this supposed “redemption arc,” because it’s easy to engage with characters that are always evil no matter what and show no semblance of humanity, but many “bad people” come to realize that they are bad. sometimes they change, sometimes they don’t. i don’t think vercion is end game in any capacity, seeing as how the mc only sees him as an abuser, or an object to work through his sexual frustrations.
i still do adore vercion though, his religious fanatical tendencies, his absolute obsession and devotion to the mc, but also he literally does not know the mc. he doesn’t even seem to want to know him, he just needs the ideal of the dawn’s light upheld in his mind.
