I know how you feel, the Mangaka was clever the most loved villains are usually beautiful, twisted and broken. Anytime i recall chapter 46 pages 14-16 and chapter 48 I understand why he's so evil. First off arts are human, I think after being tortured and experimented on non stop for about 180 days(6 months) anyone would go mad. Then when it's finally appears to be over a final cruelty is added. That whole thing with the saved part of his mother, who was murdered and most likely eaten by his master. Like speak of physiological damage, Chapter 47 shows why Ellie was so dear to him, Ellie was his last link to humanity and we all know how that went... Ellie's not at fault... Anyways we can't fully hate Humpty Dumpty since we know his story.
