For #7, you must keep in mind overthrowing the kingdom isn’t easy. Easier said than done, yk? You have to think about the commoners and other countries that follow said kingdom. What if the commoners think the King is the rightful king? What I’m saying is that if they like the king what makes you think they won’t rebel against the Duke.
(You don’t know this, but I almost gave you a history lesson. I was going to add the fall of Rome. It was rather long so i cut it. I was overdoing it)
In summary, there needs to be a balance between all parties. Think about if other countries have their loyalty set with the king. Keep in mind the emperor too.
yeah i figured and like public opinion is a usually the big thing that keeps the crazy strong ppl in check in these stories and in this story the family doesnt have the best relations with the public so ovb they cant do any thing against the king. BUT in some other stories they have a good public image, good forgein relations and are also way stronger than the king but are still pushed around by the crown and its like what is stopping you from being like "no, im not going to do that (︶︿︶)＝凸." lol if you cant tell i just read a story like that and i was annoyed the whole time. but yeah and for the plot they cant just go around overthrowing kingdoms sadly lol
Also, ml mentioned the imperial knights grand master when he had an argument with the emperor, so I believe that that grand master is man power that keeps the duke in check, he also mentioned a contract as well.
