I read part of the novel a while back, and he actually doesn't get disowned. Instead, things get so much worse. Let's see how much I remember...
He does become a (really skilled) clock repairer working at a shop for piddling. I say repairer b/c that's all his boss lets him do. Meanwhile, since his salary can't support the family, his mother now works as a maid at a noble's house some distance away so he basically lives alone. Oh, and his (overly thundere) sister was taken in by the adventurers' guild years earlier, becoming an amazing mage.
Obviously, MC gets fired for whatever reason. That evening, he overhears a guard planning to break into his neighbor's house and rape her, so he (unsuccessfully) tries to stop him... only to get framed and tried for the crime himself. The guard turned out to be some noble's son, and the whole "trial" was a farce to cover up his crimes. Oh, and the saint testified against MC. I think her current boyfriend (the "hero", or something?) convinced her to. So MC gets shipped off to this dangerous dungeon city in the outskirts as a criminal slave.
At least slaves can eventually buy their freedom? If they survive long enough, anyway. MC gets stuck as a porter for a party of adventurers who treat him like crap. Oh, I forgot something important: remember his tsundere sister, who became an amazing mage? She's been telling everyone how her brother is so hopeless without her, and she'll just have to help him out, y'know, as thundere tend to do. Except people take what she says at face value so all these adventurers have a HORRIBLE opinion of him. Needless to say, he ends up getting pushed (iirc) into the dungeon depths and left for dead.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! Thundere sis has been saving part of her earnings for her bro, since she actually really cares about him... but the guildmaster decided she shouldn't be giving her useless leech of a brother (as far as he knew) any money, so instead he put it away for safe keeping and MC never knew or received any. Sis eventually finds out and is horrified, but lol by then MC was already stuck in a dungeon.
Meanwhile, MC's mom came home on a break from work, found out her son had been tried for rape and sent off as a slave, and she's LIVID. She goes around trying to prove his innocence, which is eventually successful, I think? Either way, the rapist guard gets stoned to death in the public square.
There was also something about the saint having been donating money to MC, except the people around her had been embezzling it all without her knowledge. The donations were part of the reason she testified, iirc. Anyway, she finds out and feels horrible b/c MC really WAS innocent, and why didn't she believe in him boohoo! She comes to view staying with the scumbag hero as her punishment.
What depression episode could have made any author write this type of plot like it's sad at every twist and turn wtf

She is also a saint, and he become an ordinary clock artisan or something. And then he got kicked out of his fmaily for being "useless" and then got disowned as such and such. Well, I'll still be here waiting for new chapters~ (〜￣△￣)〜
